DigitalScirocco
is an auction-based marketplace bringing fresh and relevant content and
services to Web-based properties. DigitalScirocco allows Web owners to
bid on, buy and present content, including text, video, audio, other
media and social-based services, meeting the objectives of their
offerings, while optimizing visitor experience through real time
selection and delivery, thus increasing visitor loyalty and driving
operational objectives.
The company was founded by Bruce D’Ambrosio. The
team is made-up of a half-dozen professionals and growing.

Bruce D'Ambrosio: Founder and CEO
Bruce founded DigitalScirocco – his third start-up – and serves as the company’s interim CEO.
Previously, he founded CleverSet, a technology leader in the rapidly
growing field of automated personalization engines, used to optimize
e-commerce experiences by presenting visitors with relevant
recommendations and information. CleverSet was acquired by ATG (Art
Technology Group) (NASDAQ: ARTG) in early 2008 for approximately $11
million in cash.
He also founded Prevision, a technology firm focused on decision
analysis and strategy software. Prevision was acquired in 1997 by Fair
Isaac, now FICO (NYSE: FICO).
In addition to being a serial entrepreneur, Bruce is a computer
scientist. He holds an emeritus faculty position in computer science at
Oregon State University, where he focused on probabilistic methods in
artificial intelligence, machine learning, and real-time behavior
modeling.

Jane Jorgensen: Content Curator and Operations
As s Content Curator, Jane maintains the content items in our database.
She assesses the objectives of our content placements and supervises the selection of appropriate content to satisfy those needs.
She also maintains the inventory of content so that it can be kept up to date and replenished.
Jane was Principal Scientist at CleverSet and ATG. She received a BA in Linguistics from the University of California at Berkeley.
She holds MS and PhD degrees in Public Health from Oregon State University in Corvallis, where her research focused on the complex dynamics of humans with large natural and anthropogenic systems.
Jane's approach to s content is that it is a living organism that must be fed and groomed.

Michael Wellman: Technical Adviser
Michael
is professor and associate chair of Computer Science and Engineering,
at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. His research has focused on
computational market mechanisms for distributed decision-making and
electronic commerce.
Michael was chief market technologist for TradingDynamics, now part of
Ariba, where he designed configurable auction technology for dynamic
business-to-business commerce. Michael has also served as chair of the
ACM Special Interest Group on Electronic Commerce (SIGecom) and as
executive editor of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research.
He is a Fellow of the Association of the Advancement of Artificial
Intelligence and the Association for Computing Machinery and holds a
doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for his work
in qualitative probabilistic reasoning and decision-theoretic planning.
