Bruce D'Ambrosio: Founder and CEO
Bruce founded DigitalScirocco – his third start-up – and serves as the company’s CEO.

Previously, he founded CleverSet, a technology leader in the rapidly growing field of automated personalization engines, used to optimize e-commerce experiences by presenting visitors with relevant recommendations and information. CleverSet was acquired by ATG (Art Technology Group) (NASDAQ: ARTG) in early 2008 for approximately $9 million in cash.

He also founded Prevision, a technology firm focused on decision analysis and strategy software. Prevision was acquired in 1997 by Fair Isaac, now FICO (NYSE: FICO).

In addition to being a serial entrepreneur, Bruce is a computer scientist. He holds an emeritus faculty position in computer science at Oregon State University, where he focused on probabilistic methods in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and real-time behavior modeling.

Matthew McLaughlin: VP of Engineering

Matthew serves as vice president of Engineering. Previously, he was CTO and vice president of engineering at RedRover Software where he guided and implemented all strategic engineering activities. He was also a co-founder of Music Strands, now MyStrands, a successful recommendation engine provider where he designed, implemented, and patented the original algorithms for the recommendation engine.

Matthew has also held technology positions at Accenture Technology Labs, Tektronix and LSI Logic. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Science with a specialty in Recommender Systems from Oregon State University.

Michael Wellman: Technical Adviser

Michael is professor and associate chair of Computer Science and Engineering, at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. His research has focused on computational market mechanisms for distributed decision-making and electronic commerce.

Michael was chief market technologist for TradingDynamics, now part of Ariba, where he designed configurable auction technology for dynamic business-to-business commerce. Michael has also served as chair of the ACM Special Interest Group on Electronic Commerce (SIGecom) and as executive editor of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research.

He is a Fellow of the Association of the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence and the Association for Computing Machinery and holds a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for his work in qualitative probabilistic reasoning and decision-theoretic planning.

Otis Kimzey: Sales Manager

Otis comes to DigitalScirocco with previous experience at multiple startups in the Seattle area. With a focus on customer satisfaction Otis is able to ensure new customers are finding the right solution to best serve their needs.

He has previously worked with Bruce while building the business at CleverSet. While at CleverSet Otis and the sales team were able to build the active customer base from three to over eighty when they were acquired by ATG.

In his free time Otis hasn't found a sport he doesn't enjoy. From the field, to the court, to the fairway (or rough) he is always game for a friendly challenge.
